Recorded in about 2-3 days, mostly as a "test" song to get myself familiar with Ableton Live (recording software), but turned into one of my favorite songs. It's simple (only 2 chords) and I like the mix. Lyrics were improvised during the first night of recording. The second night was for mixing and fixing.
lyrics
When I was a little boy I used to fight on my knees
beggin please don't hurt me
Well look at me now, I'm all grown up and hurting others
just as much as I tried to avoid when I was younger
Take a tree, sip for me, I'm saying I can't see you until
Christmas Day
Tonight is not the night we settle or be easy
On my breaks I write down words more mediocre than they should
A black little book with this staring match
My eyes challenging the sun bares a likelier winning chance
But even with these failed notes on life
my pockets stayed filled with the lining of her inside
Crush me down, another recycled sound, I'm dragging this one out
Until tomorrow's sunrise
