A last-ditched effort to save a dead relationship (of which, I missed the red flags). I played this song to the one it was written for, and she didn't seem to care one way or the other. Kinda made my mind up for me that night.
At the time, the lyrics in the chorus were, "I love you and you love me too," but after this night, it was changed to, "I loved you"... understandably. It's juvenile, but so is most love.
lyrics
Where are you going? Am I laggin' behind?
We all get lost sometimes...
You say something missing, we’ll of course it is.
There are no actors in this room
I loved you, and you loved me too
Like two kids who would play all afternoon
But when the sun leaves us and ends our day
Our love will remain, our love will remain...
Seeing you in your summer dress
Taking a stroll around the lake
With eyes bright enough to melt mine
We're sippin' right from the vine
Tears that stain our lives - we just can't hide
The autumn has fallen
Your eyes have darkened
I loved you, and you loved me too
Like two kids who play all afternoon
But when the sun leaves us and ends our day
Our love will remain
I loved you, and you loved me too
Like two kids who play all afternoon
But when the sun leaves us and ends our dream
Our dream...
